Product Introduction

Glacier Coolant LM-16C2 is used to indirectly transfer heat. As a class of synthetic hydrocarbons with good thermal stability, it has the advantages of homogeneous heating, accurate temperature control, superior heat transfer capability, energy conservation, and convenient operation. It has been widely used in pharmaceutical, chemical, solar-thermal new energy, oil and gas fields.

LM-16C2 is a light-colored liquid consisting of modified synthetic hydrocarbons. It is mainly suitable for high-temperature environments, with an operation temperature range of -30°C to 340°C. It has good thermal stability and good vapor pressure due to its stable structure, recommended for closed-cycle systems. Its closed-cup flash point is 128°C and boiling point is 272°C.

The product features good low-temperature performance, a wide temperature range allowing the same heat carrier for heating and cooling systems from -30°C to 340°C, good thermal stability with resistance to coking and carbon formation, and near non-corrosiveness to metals with no adverse effects on operators.

LM-16C2 is compatible with non-metallic materials including Viton, PP, PTFE, HDPE, and polyethylene. For silicone rubber, compatibility is not observed. For other materials, please consult a technician.

LM-16C2 can be used alone and cannot be mixed with other coolants and heat transfer fluids. After confirming no leakage points, clean the system and add the coolant as soon as possible after drying. It is only used in closed systems, and moisture must be prevented from entering during use. It shall not be directly used to heat or cool chemicals with oxidizing effects.

For first use, the product should be inspected within 3 months after injection and commissioning, and thereafter at least once a year. Inspection items include appearance, closed flash point, viscosity, and acid number.

As part of Glacier Coolant's anti-rust and anti-corrosion expertise since 1994, the LM-16C2 series delivers a reliable, wide-temperature heat transfer solution for demanding industrial applications.

When mixed materials make compatibility a gamble

When a fluid touches many metals and polymers, the failure isn't the rating on paper — it's what happens after months in contact. We've seen loops where a skipped water seal let air corrode the heat exchanger, and another where oxygen picked up at the return took a heat exchanger out twice in a year. LM-16C2 is qualified against a material-compatibility table where the "√" marks confirm no dissolution, swelling or aging on the listed plastics, rubbers and metals, so you place it in mixed-material closed loops with documented confidence. Run as a single fluid in a sealed circuit, it delivers the same water-free, ice-plug-free operation as the LM-16 family while taking the material-selection risk off your plate.

Use note: verified compatibility table (√ = no dissolution / swelling / aging); single-fluid sealed loop.
