Product Introduction

Glacier Coolant LM-4Y is a specialized industrial coolant designed for data center cooling systems. It operates in indirect contact mode, transferring heat generated by servers during operation to reduce server temperatures. Formulated with modified diols and composed of organic composite corrosion inhibitors, antioxidants, antifoam agents, and deionized water, this product features low conductivity and is free of silicon, phosphonates, nitrite, and other salt components.

LM-4Y offers excellent anti-rust performance for aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and other metals. It operates reliably from -35°C to 150°C when prepared to appropriate concentrations. At 40% concentration, the freezing point is -23.5℃, boiling point is 105.5℃, and conductivity ranges from 440 to 670 µs/cm at 20℃.

The coolant incorporates Glacier Coolant's proprietary Modify 2000 composite modification technology, offering strengthened specific heat and thermal conductivity, reduced viscosity, inhibited volatilization, sterilization and scale inhibition, multiple anti-rust factors, and wide temperature range resistance.

The anti-rust protection system uses pure natural organic acids and organic bases, completely free of salt substances. These organic components form stable coordination bonds with metals, creating a dense super anti-rust film on the metal surface that avoids electrochemical corrosion caused by direct metal contact. This system not only effectively inhibits metal oxidation but also continuously consumes dissolved oxygen in the system, preventing oxygen diffusion to the metal surface.

LM-4Y is compatible with non-metallic materials including PVC, fluororubber, latex, HDPE, natural rubber, PP, silica gel, and PTFE. Regular monitoring of concentration, pH, anti-rust performance, and conductivity is recommended for long-term operation.
As part of Glacier Coolant's 30 years of expertise in secondary refrigerant manufacturing, the LM-4Y series delivers a reliable, low-conductivity cooling solution for modern data center applications.

LM-4Y Glacier Coolant features low electrical conductivity, high specific heat, strong cooling capacity, and excellent anti-rust performance. It provides outstanding rust protection for metals including aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper. When formulated to the appropriate concentration, it can be used as a coolant within a temperature range of –35 °C to 150 °C. Parameters at 20 °C for different concentrations and parameters at various temperatures for a 40 wt% dilution are shown in Tables 1 and 2, respectively.

Rust Protection

LM-4Y Glacier Coolant contains purely natural organic acids and bases, with no salts. These organic components form stable coordination bonds with metal surfaces, creating a dense, super-protective anti-rust film. This prevents electrochemical corrosion caused by direct metal contact, effectively inhibits metal oxidation, and continuously consumes dissolved oxygen in the system to prevent oxygen diffusion to metal surfaces, achieving anti-corrosion effects.

Compatibility with Non-Metallic Materials

Compatibility of non-metallic materials with LM-4Y Glacier Coolant is shown below:

Material PVC Fluoroelastomer Latex HDPE Natural rubber PP Silicone PTFE

Note: "√" indicates no dissolution, swelling, or aging observed. For compatibility with other materials, please consult technical staff.

Usage Instructions

1.Remove any metal chips or dirt from the system. Flush with deionized or ultrapure water for at least 1 hour until no metal chips or scale remain in the rinse water.

2.Based on the system's operating temperature, use the concentration-freezing point table to calculate the required amounts of LM-4Y Glacier Coolant and deionized water.

3.Add deionized water in several portions with the circulation running. After each addition, allow full circulation and check the concentration to avoid over-dilution. Once the desired concentration is reached, the system is ready for normal use.

4.It is recommended to eliminate air bubbles from the system to prevent corrosion and pump cavitation.

5.Use of galvanized steel is not recommended, as the zinc coating will react with the corrosion inhibitor in the fluid, leading to inhibitor precipitation and depletion of the zinc protective layer.

6.Do not mix Glacier Coolant with other substances. If special circumstances arise, contact our company immediately.

7.Welding or other hot work is strictly prohibited when Glacier Coolant is present in the system.
