Glacier Coolant LM-4D Ultra-Low Conductivity Coolant -35°C To 150°C
Product Introduction
Glacier Coolant LM-4D is a specialized industrial coolant designed for heat dissipation systems requiring low conductivity, such as fuel cell cooling systems. Formulated with modified diols and enhanced with non-ionic corrosion inhibitors, anti-oxidants, and stabilizers, this product improves electrochemical oxidation resistance and effectively inhibits ionization trends during oxidation decomposition.
LM-4D demonstrates excellent anti-rust performance for aluminum alloy, stainless steel, brass, copper, and other metals. At 20℃, the conductivity of stock solution is less than 1 µs/cm, and that of 50% diluent is less than 5 µs/cm. When prepared to certain concentrations, its boiling point can exceed 150℃ and its freezing point can drop below -50℃. The corrosion inhibitor is made of all organic components and is free of silicon, phosphonates, amines, and nitrite.
The coolant utilizes non-ionic corrosion inhibitors to provide excellent corrosion protection for most metals and alloys. The corrosion inhibitors create a protective layer on the metal surface, preventing ion leaching that increases conductivity and preventing corrosion.
LM-4D is compatible with red copper, brass, stainless steel, 3-series aluminum alloy, and 6-series aluminum alloy. It is also compatible with non-metallic materials including fluororubber, HDPE, natural rubber, PP, silica gel, and PTFE.
Note: For systems containing carbon steel, pure aluminum, and 1-series aluminum alloys, LM-4D is not recommended. Zinc, zinc-plated, or galvanized metals are also not recommended.
As part of Glacier Coolant's 30 years of expertise in anti-rust and anti-corrosion solutions for industrial secondary refrigerants, the LM-4D series delivers a reliable, low-conductivity cooling solution for advanced applications.
Glacier coolant basically has no corrosion to carbon steel, stainless steel, red copper, aluminum alloy and other metals, and has good corrosion protection based on the test done by Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences according to GB/T 19291-2003 《General principles of corrosion testing of metals and alloys》. The test results are as follows:
In view of the serious corrosion of equipment caused by ethylene glycol, alcohol and salt water, the glacier coolant products adopt the “M3 super film corrosion protection” technology to form a super corrosion protection film through the synergistic action of three corrosion protection factors, which can effectively block the corrosion of a variety of metals and produce lasting protection for the cooling system. The principle of M3 super film corrosion protection is shown as follows:
Product Features
The refrigerant treated by our company's proprietary Modify 2000 composite modification technology has the following characteristics:
◎ Strengthen specific heat conduction and improve cooling capacity.
◎ Reduce medium viscosity and save transportation energy consumption.
◎ Inhibit liquid volatilization and reduce use consumption.
◎ Sterilization, algae and scale inhibition to improve the system environment.
◎ A variety of antirust factors to prolong the service life of the equipment.
◎ Keep low conductivity and improve battery performance.
Anticorrosion Mechanism
LM-4D glacier coolant utilizes non-ionic corrosion inhibitors to provide excellent corrosion protection for most metals and many other alloys. The corrosion inhibitors create a protective layer on the metal surface, which is linked to the coolant to prevent ion leaching that increases conductivity and prevent corrosion.
